Istambul Airport is officially called international airport of Ataturk, in honor of the founder of the modern Turkey: Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. There are two terminals: one for international flights (A) and a flight home (B). The International Terminal was opened in 2001 and therefore is very modern.
Ataturk Airport is located 24 kilometers southeast of Istanbul on the European side. The second international airport - Sabiha Gökçen International Airport - located on the other side of the Bosphorus, the Asian side. There are plans to build a new airport to the north of the city.
Buses are preferable to suburban trains wich are very slow. Istanbul has two suburban bus stations:
Station Esenler - The European side at the stop "Otogar" light Tube. It consists of a large central courtyard where you overlook ticket offices (about 150), similar to shops with shelves displaying packages to ship, and a table outside that says in big letters the name of the destination.
Harem Station - Located on the Asian side and serves destinations in Anatolia. It is much smaller than the previous
