ENGLAND
HIGHLIGHTS
Pleasant image of England crystallized in the 30's of the twentieth century, when community life revolved around post offices, pubs and the local canonicals, was canceled by the power of the modern world and the great expansion of suburban areas. The 'new' Britain announced by Labor leader Tony Blair leaves behind the Thatcher period and faces the future with the usual attachment to tradition and mindful of having to face economic and social problems always new. Remains strong in the country to proceed on a path of independence against the European Union, as strong remains the cultural identity of the subjects of His Majesty. England is a country to visit and to discover.
ENGLAND INFO TRAVEL
WEATHER
Anyone who spends a certain period of time in England will share the obsession of the local population to the weather, even if  the weather is relatively mild, and rainfall fairly small. Most inhospitable months to tourists are winter from November to February, when it's cold and days are short. March and October are interim months, during which days are longer, but temperatures can be hard. Spring and summer months, from April to September are undoubtedly the best and most exploited by the visitors, partly because tourist attractions are mostly open. July and August are the busiest months and, if possible, should be avoided: along coasts, national parks, in London and frequented cities such as Oxford, Bath and York, when crowd
confusing.

EVENTS
For athletes, the traditional boat race between the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge is held in London on the Thames at the end of March;  the famous grueling Grand National (steeplechase horse race) takes place at Aintree, Liverpool, on the first Saturday of April, the FA Cup soccer final which culminated in the dispute at London's Wembley Stadium in May, the Wimbledon tennis championships are held in late June, for the refined, in the first week of July, takes place in Henley-on-Thames, the Henley Royal Regatta and at the end of July, the Isle of Wight hosts the imaginative Cowes Week, for pleasure boats
